Golden is a natural choice for sledders with its numerous riding options, light dry powder snow, and convenient location off the TransCanada highway.
Quartz Creek is SledGolden’s marquee area. Ample parking, easy access to alpine bowls, and a cabin at the end of the groomed trail make this a great zone to get your bearings. The trailhead doubles as a gateway for the West Bench Trail, a 38km groomed family friendly ride that connects to the neighboring hill climber’s paradise, Gorman Lake. Farther South of town, Silent Pass takes riders of all abilities deep into the rugged Purcell’s for glade and meadow riding.
Of course, every sledder's bucket list includes a spring sled trip to nearby Chatter Creek Lodge. When you need a break, town is full of places to rest, relax, and dine including the Eagle Eye at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Canada’s highest place to grab a bite.
