CONNECTING ART & ADVENTURE: REVELSTOKE SNOWMOBILE CLUB PARTNERS WITH LOCAL ARTISTS

When you think of snowmobiling in British Columbia, Revelstoke's deep powder and stunning mountain views immediately come to mind. However, the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club (RSC) offers more than just stoke-inducing rides and scenic trails. This past year, the RSC forged partnerships with local artists to celebrate its rich history and showcase the incredible talent within the Revelstoke community.

Benji Lowclass, a talented graphic designer and illustrator, has made a significant impact on Revelstoke's art scene with his creative works. Drawing inspiration from Canada's wilderness and mountain culture, his design featuring Boulder Mountain trails and the club’s Vintage Ride event became a bestseller on RSC clothing and swag in 2024. Now back in stock online, this popular design perfectly captures the essence of Revelstoke's snowmobiling culture.

Just released - Benji has crafted an all-new 2025 design celebrating the iconic Frisby Ridge, bringing his signature style to life once again. This fresh artwork is now available on RSC merchandise, offering riders a chance to showcase their love for the popular Revy riding zone.

The RSC's commitment to celebrating local talent extends beyond apparel. Last year, with support from Tourism Revelstoke, the club's sea cans received a vibrant makeover. The initial mural, painted by Ingrid Van Opstal, captures a snowmobiler enjoying Revelstoke's iconic snow against a downtown backdrop. This mural, visible from Jordan Mainline Rd., reconnects snowmobilers with the town's core, reminiscent of a time when riders would sled into town. It's the first of six planned installations, transforming sea cans into canvases that spotlight local artistry. Keep an eye out for an exciting big reveal as the club prepares to unveil a brand-new sea can mural designed by Benji, coming soon!

Another exciting project involved the Yeti, crafted by local machinist Roocan Manufacturing Inc. The RSC powder-coated him in their logo's colors, and last November, he made a rare appearance flying above town as the club delivered him to his new home on Boulder Mountain. His exact location remained top secret all winter, adding to the mystery. Adventurers were invited to seek him out, but like any elusive legend, he kept people guessing.

In winter 2025, the Yeti will take on a new role as one of the club's official sponsored webcams. Not only will he keep watch over Boulder Mountain, but he'll also be a fun way to track snowfall depth and maybe even catch a glimpse of his elusive nature. Keep your eyes peeled for this unique addition to Revelstoke's winter wonderland!

British Columbia is home to nearly 30,000 artists and studios, drawing inspiration from its breathtaking natural landscapes. Acquiring a piece of local art not only commemorates your time in Revelstoke but also serves as a meaningful gift, encapsulating the unique charm of this sled town. Find local art at the Revelstoke Art Gallery and Art First! Gallery.

As one of the oldest snowmobile clubs, the RSC continues to lead in modern snowmobiling practices while advocating for sustainable backcountry access. Collaborations with artists like Benji Lowclass and Ingrid Van Opstal underscore the RSC's commitment to preserving snowmobiling's rich culture and history in Revelstoke.
