RESPECT WHERE YOU RIDE: STEWARDSHIP TIPS FOR BC SNOWMOBILERS

Snowmobiling in BC is ‘Super, Natural’—where majestic peaks, deep powder, and endless trails create an emotionally powerful experience. We’re excited to share this incredible place, but we need your help to respect and nurture it.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: CHECK THE MAP

BC is packed with breathtaking spots, but not all areas are open for snowmobiling. Check the BC Provincial Snowmobile Trail Map for real-time updates on closures and open areas. Staying informed is part of riding responsibly.

MAKE YOUR TRACKS LEGENDARY

Every line you carve tells a story—make it a good one. On and off the mountain, you’re an ambassador for snowmobiling. The spotlight is on us, so let’s show the best side of our sport and keep BC communities eager to welcome riders back.

WILDLIFE: OBSERVE FROM A DISTANCE

Respect wildlife by keeping your distance. Spotting wildlife is thrilling, but let them go about their business undisturbed. Your respect helps protect the flora and fauna that make BC’s backcountry so incredible.

TUNE UP & GEAR UP GREEN

Opt for low-emission sleds and eco-friendly fluids to keep your carbon footprint low while enjoying top-notch performance. Regular maintenance keeps your sled and truck efficient, reducing emissions and noise. Avoid unnecessary idling — it’s better for the planet and your gas bill.

CHILL VIBES ONLY: RESPECT THE SOUNDSCAPES

Leave the loud pipes and blasting tunes at home. In BC, it’s all about enjoying nature and the laughter of friends and family. Staging areas and shelters are family-friendly zones — keep the noise and speed down, and the language clean.

PACK IN, PACK OUT: KEEP IT CLEAN

Trash belongs in your bag, not in the backcountry. Let’s keep snowmobile areas pristine — pack out all your wrappers, cans, and anything else you bring in.

KEEP IT TIGHT: SMALL GROUPS, BIG FUN

Smaller groups make for less impact and more room to shred. Plus, fewer people = more ride time and less hassle.

GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY: VOLUNTEER

With over 60+ snowmobile clubs in BC working hard behind the scenes, your help makes a difference. Join a work party, maintain trails, or lend a hand by bringing in firewood or shoveling stairs. Your efforts keep our riding zones awesome and earn you some serious good karma.

STICK TO THE PATH IN LOW SNOW

Low snow? Stick to established trails and avoid new growth areas until there’s enough coverage. Small moves like these make a big difference.

SPREAD THE WORD: BE A COMMUNITY HERO

Share the love of smart sledding. Show new riders the ropes, pass on these tips, and keep our community solid. We’re all in this together — let’s ride with respect and keep BC’s backcountry the best place on earth.
