BC’S VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE CULTURE
SAME STROKE. NEW STOKE.

There’s something about the snarl of an old two-stroke, the shine of chrome cowls, and the smell of premix hanging in crisp air that transports you back in time.
Maybe it was your first sled. Maybe it was your neighbour’s Ski-Doo Olympique, or the Arctic Cat Panther your uncle swore would never quit. For riders who grew up with these machines, and for those who still keep them alive, vintage sleds are more than collectibles. They’re a direct line to the roots of the sport.
And there’s no better place to celebrate that heritage than the annual Vintage Ride hosted by the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club.
The event draws an eclectic mix: proud collectors trailering in perfectly restored gems, riders pulling the tarp off an old triple that still fires on the second pull, and families who come to watch the parade of history ride again. Out on the snow, horsepower matters—not for how fast you go, but for the thrill of hearing those old engines come to life again.
Stories fly faster than the sleds themselves, each one a reminder of a simpler time when long-travel suspension was just a dream and every ride felt like an expedition.
For anyone who once rode and still feels the itch, this is the perfect chance to reconnect. Pack up your old iron, point west, and bring it to life against the backdrop of BC’s mountains. Even if your sled stays parked at the shelter, the community, the atmosphere, and the sheer joy of watching history roar back to life make it worth the trip.
And if you can’t make the Revy Vintage Ride?
Don’t worry—vintage sled gatherings happen all across the province, from show-and-shines to parade rides and throwback rallies. Because snowmobiling isn’t just about what’s new or next. It’s about remembering where we came from, and keeping that magic alive for the next generation.
